The finished kitchen is warm, modern, and designed to work hard without feeling utilitarian. Natural wood cabinetry brings depth and character, while expansive light countertops brighten the room and provide generous preparation and serving space. Matte black hardware, a sculptural range hood, stainless steel appliances, and statement pendant lights add crisp contrast.
The oversized island anchors the new plan. It adds storage, work space, casual dining, and a natural place for conversation. Integrated lighting at the toe kick gives the cabinetry a subtle evening glow and reinforces the clean horizontal lines of the design.

Opening the plan did not mean erasing the character of each room. The dining area remains grounded by the original brick fireplace, now complemented by fresh wall color, bright trim, and tailored panel molding. It feels distinct enough for dinner, yet fully connected to the kitchen and living room.
The living area benefits from the same continuous flooring, updated recessed lighting, clean crown molding, and a calmer palette. Furniture can be arranged for conversation, television, or larger gatherings without blocking movement through the home. The result is a common area that feels expansive, but never undefined.

From the Front Door to the Backyard
One of the strongest outcomes of the renovation is the new sense of movement. From the front door, the eye can travel through the living area, across the kitchen, and toward the backyard. The home feels larger because the common areas are no longer competing for space or hidden behind walls.
