Recently, Bluewater Building Company completed an exceptional GAF HDZ Shingle roofing project in Poquoson, VA.   1. Arrival & Preparation: We start early by dropping off a trailer and covering flower beds, HVAC units, and any delicate areas of your yard with tarps.
  2. Removal of the Old Roof: We strip your roof down to the decking, making sure to expose the plywood beneath for a thorough inspection.
  3. Decking Inspection: We inspect every piece of plywood for rot or structural damage and replace any compromised sections to ensure the integrity of your roof.
  4. Synthetic Barrier Installation: Next, we lay down a high-quality synthetic barrier to safeguard your home, with Ice and Water Shield in vulnerable areas like valleys if requested.
  5. Shingle & Ridge Vent Installation: We use GAF Starter Strip, GAF HDZ (or UHDZ) Shingles, GAF Ridge Vents, and GAF Ridge Cap Shingles for maximum protection and style.
  6. Collar & Other Vent Replacement: All pipe collars are replaced with Lifetime Tool Ultimate Pipe Collars, while we update all 750A vents. If your home has skylights, we install new, VELUX No-Leak Skylights, and reflash any chimneys for added protection.
  7. Thorough Cleanup: Finally, we meticulously clean up the worksite, removing up to 30,000 nails from an average-sized roof. We use tarps and 4′ magnet rollers to minimize disruption, but as we’re removing an old roof, a bit of mess is inevitable. We strive to leave your yard spotless.
